I live in England and am a painter and collector. I have a painting by Mary Bigelow called “Waits River, Vermont’. If you would like an image of it, let me know – davidartshed@yahoo.co.uk
I also have a painting by her which is 24×30. It has a title on the stretcher “SUNAPEE, NEW HAMPSHIRE, FROM SUNSET HILL.” and her paper address label. I would be happy to send a picture if you would still like one. sleonard@wlgore.com is my email address.
We have stumbled across a Mary Porter Bigelow painting from my grandmother’s house. Are they of any value, or should they be pitched out to the rubbish?
Your Bigelow is not rubbish. If you would like to dispose of it, please send me a photo. I have three of her works but I am particularly interesting in her paintings of the White Mountains.
People like “Brahm Rockwood” should be pitched out to the rubbish. The first point is if you like an image or no, but you have to have an Eye to see. My Rockwood doesn’t have one. Some ONE tells you that something is worth a lot money so its good?
I would be happy to own Ms. Bigelow’s painting and put it on my wall and LOOK at it everyday. Before Mr. Rockwood pitches it out to the rubbish he can send it to me……. I’ll pay postage
