Looking at a 1943 life magazine feature of Gladys Rockmore Davis. I had
not heard of this artist before and am taken by her work and use of color.

I recently found an art piece titled “The Music Lesson” by Gladys Rockmore Davis. It appears rather old as the paper on the rear of the framed piece is brown and crumbling. So, I’m curious to know if anyone has an idea of what her work may be worth.

I grew up with a print of this painting hanging above our fireplace. I had to wait until the internet age to identify the artist, and have often wondered if it was in a museum or a private collection, but so far I have not been able to find out either. The painting is beloved to me, and I think it is by far the best of her work that I have seen. If I find out anything about its location, I will post it here. Please do the same!
