It took me a while to figure out the significance of “IX XI – In Memoriam.” This link, which came up when I googled, gave me the clue: http://www.qcc.cuny.edu/news/2011/09/Ultra-Violet.html.
The artist is referring to 9/11, befitting the twin towers in the painting. Well done.
